How to Choose the Materials of Ball Valves?

The ball valves in the pipelines should be designed considering many factors such as operating environment, medium, maximum pressure, valve corrosion resistance requirements. Different working conditions require different valve materials.

1.Operating environment

It refers to  the position where the valve is used (inlet or outlet of pipelines), the atmosphere (such as air, seawater, fresh water, salt fog, corrosion environment, etc. ), and temperature (low temperature, room temperature, high temperature).

2.Medium

It refers to the medium that pass through the valve, including fresh water, steam, seawater, domestic drinking water, sewage, oil, corrosion medium, gas and solid particle, etc.

3.Maximum pressure

It refers to the maximum pressure of medium that pass through the ball valve while design the pipelines. It is also known as the design pressure.

4.Corrosion resistance requirements

The requirements refer to the corrosion characteristics that the valve needs to withstand, such as seawater corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, acid corrosion resistance, H+ resistance, H2S resistance.
